So what if Christmas is over? As I said before, I can listen to A Charlie Brown Christmas any time of year — so here’s the final track, “Greensleeves.” It’s slow and peaceful, and it’s the perfect song to fall asleep to…
It’s officially Christmas, so I figured I’d celebrate it by giving all of you a gift: another song off my all-time favorite Christmas album — yep, you guessed it — A Charlie Brown Christmas. This one is called “Christmas Time Is Here” (it’s the instrumental version).
I’m messing around with the HTML and CSS of my tumblelog to try and get it to display the way I want it to.
By “messing around,” I mean “fumbling blindly,” since my knowledge of programming code is limited at best.
In other words, if you see something wonky going on, don’t worry about it — it’ll hopefully be fixed eventually. If it isn’t, then (A) I couldn’t fix it, or (B) that’s the way I want it to look, so you’ll just have to get used to it!
(Edit: SUCCESS! I think this is as good as it’s going to get.)
You know, some may find this fact pathetic, but Tumblr is one of the few genuinely bright spots in my life, right now. I really enjoy coming here and reading about all your lives and the things you enjoy. I dig you guys. As Bilbo said, “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you as well as you deserve.” Or something like that… You get the idea.
Anyway, I should’ve probably saved a sappy post like this for Christmas or New Year’s, or something like that, but I’m going through a challenging time right now (perpetually, it seems) and I had to let out this burst of good will and fuzzies. Get used to it.
Let me sum up: If you’re reading this, I most likely <3 you.
This is the most wonderfully unpathetic thing I’ve read all year. I <3 you back, already.
See? This is what I’m talking about. I’m used to seeing, and being a part of, the cynical, sarcastic side of the internet. I sometimes forget the warm-fuzzy part exists. <3
I also enjoy telling my Tumblr friends how much I adore them. Tumblr is so fun, so upbeat, and full of such naughty lit’l creative darlings - I find myself visiting my other interweb haunts less and less in favor of Tumblr. And you, Sharpless, you’re one of my favorites! Thanks for being great, and thanks for quoting Bilbo in your post. Genius!
I feel bad abusing the reblog system like this, but I just have to say this: I think you and suicideblonde are absolutely delightful. I really do. And I use that word without any irony, because I’m a dork who uses words like “delightful” without any irony.
Sharpless’ tumblelog is, for the most part, the reason that mine can even be sustained. I don’t know that I can give a higher compliment than that.
“Everyone thinks Brad Pitt has it great because he married Angelina Jolie. I think he has it terrible, because when Angelina Jolie is giving you a blow job, what do you tip your head back and think of to help you finish? You have nothing left — just Jesus on a polar bear in the middle of the snow, saying, ‘You greedy motherfucker, I’ve got nothing for you.’”—
The article is right — Best Original Score is definitely not one of the Oscars that your average film fan cares about. And that’s a damn shame, since a score is so vital to the effectiveness of a film.
I also totally thought that it was really Mr. Clifford Bleszinski. But then, I’m gullible — though you’ve got to admit, you couldn’t legitimately discount the idea that he was the man behind @cliffy_b…
I just started following Arrested Development Stills. Considering that Arrested Development may be the funniest sitcom in the history of television, and that I’ve seen each and every one of the show’s 53 episodes, most of the images on that particular tumblelog make me burst out laughing.
There are six days to go until Christmas, so here’s track 2 from the greatest Christmas album of all time, A Charlie Brown Christmas: “What Child Is This.”
This is somuch better than the sterile John Denver version that’s on the 48-track compilation of Christmas songs that my brother and I bought my mom last Christmas, and the Kenny G version you hear on Lite FM.
more of you people need to post more often. I keep reblogging the same two or three people, and it’s making me feel bad. TUMBL HARDR. TUMBL FASTR. ALSO, PRODUCE MORE ORIGINAL CONTENT, MATTHEW, YOU HOBO.
I know, gosh.
What Sharpless said. God knows 95% of my posts are just reblogs of his posts.
