The wierd thing is, I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard about this. Odd, because I liked Heath Ledger and all, but I wasn’t his biggest fan. I was just completely shocked. That, and I just loved him and Michelle.

I was in Australia, and I had my 9 AM Magazine Writing class. I came in late (always late) and everyone was just dead silent. I asked what was wrong and my professor told me what had happened. Then I rather sensitively blurted out, “Is that a joke?” But for the rest of the day the entire campus was stunned. Australians take care of each other, and to have one of their own pass so tragically was almost too much to handle. RIP.
Me too. I had just gotten out of a movie — I forget which one — and I saw that I had a missed call. I called my friend back, and he was talking about random stuff and then said, “By the way…Heath Ledger’s dead.” I remember just being absolutely shocked — like one of the bloggers above, I wasn’t a Ledger fanboy or anything, but I had enjoyed his work, and was very much looking forward to seeing him in The Dark Knight. What a shame.
