The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun”: the lost guitar solo
Here’s a video of Dhani Harrison (George Harrison’s son), longtime Beatles producer George Martin, and his son Giles Martin fiddling with controls in the studio and finding a guitar solo that never made it to the final version of the song. George Martin says, amazed, “I forgot the matter.”
I love stuff like this, especially from my all-time favorite band.

Optical Illusion of the Day: This is called the “flashed face distortion effect” if you want to get all technical which you won’t be able to do very well after this illusion blows your mind.

“Jungleland” from the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, NJ 1978.
Kate Landau just posted this on Facebook. I had a video from 1980 up earlier but this one is hair-raising.
Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is rock n’ roll.

That drummer is bad-ass.
Weezer - “Paranoid Android” (Radiohead cover)
I liked this a lot more than I thought I was going to like it based on the premise (i.e., Weezer covering Radiohead).
This guy interviewed random people on the NYC subways. Look at the diversity in the faces and the differences of opinion. This is what makes our city so great. I easily forget this when I get on the train.
(Shout out to Jee Kim, the baldheaded Korean in the vid)
This just fills me with pride and love for New York.

Marketing Campaign of the Day: New Era launched a new ad campaign today, which features John Krasinski as a die-hard Red Sox fan engaging in some exponentially trashier trash talk with loyal Yankees supporter Alec Baldwin.
Meanwhile, the Red Sox snapped a six-game losing streak by defeating the Yankees 9-6 on Opening Day at Fenway. Do with that what you will.
“Go ahead, celebrate in April. We’ll dance in October.”
